happy newyear 2010. enjoy life y'all. life is busy with a baby..she grows so fast...no time to capture all the excitement and joy of being a parent...hmm let me tell ya...life doesn't get easier though... jus tough...but the little one makes spendin time worthwhile... it is horrible over here... 12 inches of snow ...OMG it is like watching roja film... and as each day passes i learn something new ... now my kitchen is just getting lots of new tries day by day... the more i like to cook is like inversely proportional to the rate of my blogging capacity :)

NAVRATHRI - DUSSHERA OCT 2008

i was in India this time during navrathri... it was really great... we had kolu at my mom's place and terrible man.... nalla irundhudhu indha kolu. pona varushamae i was not there .... ennamo yaedho nu inga kolu vaechaen.... aana this time it is just the opposite bommai ellam maela irundhu eduthu clean panni ... hmmm lots of work... but its worth it... avlo azhagaa irukkum... those 9 days.... ayutha pooja n saraswathi pooja ,sundals,sweets.... thayir saadham... hmm hmm hmm....

this was the shivalinga we made for the kolu...this foto i snapped wen the work was in progress.... we also made bridal cake to decorate our home....

though Linga's appearance was pleasing right from the start the final view was awesome.... breathtakin view.

how is it???? we actually aimed at making kedharnath ..... wonderful... then we had set up park n magic water tap.....

we did pookalam(a type of rangoli done with flowers... )usually kerela style... and the best part of dusshera is the steaming hot sundals you get at your place and at neighbor's place.... with mustard seeds,curry leaves,red chillies and fresh grated coconut seasoning..... lovely.....

the weather was pleasant... hmmm jus kidding horrible man... was not able to go out... stocking up completely before you leave...better not go outside... baby is growing naughtier these days . we jus now returned from India...1 month vacation...time pases by without even v knowin it... this time i just brought a grinder from india tho't it wud be of real use...ofcourse it is...ouch grindin for dosa in a mixer.... nvr ever think abt it... had this great trouble for a couple of years... happy now... grinder makes my job quite easy... i get to spend more time with my kido!!!
last week we had a tea party at my place... it was great... my friends cameover...i prepared sweetcorn and masal vada... we had bought some murukkus n thattais,sweets from india... it was great...

then we had a community gettogether.... t was fun... we had different types of food... and the bet part of the food was thedesset...hmmmm mango lassi... one of my friend's made it... i still wonder how she made it,...
